Food safety recall round-up

The firm was notified by supplier, Deutsch Kase Haus, that various cheese may be contaminated with the pathogen but no illnesses have been reported to date.

MDS Foods Inc expanded its recall to include potentially affected products packaged on the same production lines in the Tullahoma, Tennessee facility.

Saputo Inc. (Saputo) recalled certain Gouda cheese sold to retailers nationwide after been notified by Deutsch Kase Haus that some products it supplied to Saputo’s Green Bay, Wisconsin facility may have been contaminated with L. monocytogenes.

Affected retail products are some Great Midwest Applewood Smoked Gouda cheeses and Dutchmark Smoked Gouda cheeses are also involved as they were packaged on the same line.

The Great Midwest Applewood Smoked Gouda cheeses were sold primarily in retail stores at deli counters.

Biery Cheese Co recalled specialty Longhorn Colby cheese due to potential contamination after being told by Deutsch Kase Haus of the potentially affected cheese supply.

Products were distributed between November 11 and January 4 and packaged at Biery Cheese Company in Louisville, Ohio and sent to distribution centers in Georgia, Indiana and Pennsylvania.

Sargento Foods expanded the recall of cheese supplied by Deutsch Kase Haus due to potential contamination.

The company has also terminated its relationship with the firm which supplied the affected Longhorn Colby cheese.

England: Morrisons is recalling a batch of Peppered Beef Slices because Listeria monocytogenes was found in the product.

Ready to Eat Peppered Beef Slices 150g have a best before date of 21 February.

The supermarket said routine testing identified the presence of Listeria.

"We are asking all customers who have bought this use by date of this product not to consume it and to return it to their nearest Morrisons store where they will receive a full refund."

Listeria monocytogenes was found (20 CFU/g) in the product also distributed to Gibraltar.

US: Three Ready Pac Foods Inc establishments are recalling almost 60,000 pounds of one variety of chicken salad that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Puro Picante Blazin’ Hot salad items were produced between January 17 and February 17, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).

Affected product is 7.5-oz. single serve salad bowl packages of “Ready Pac Foods Puro Picante Blazin Hot” with Use By of 1/31/17 through 3/4/2017 shipped to retail nationwide.

The problem was discovered when the firm was told by a supplier that the cheese ingredient in the chicken salad was included in an expanded recall due to potential contamination with L. monocytogenes. There have been no confirmed reports of illness.

Hong Kong: The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) in Hong Kong has urged the public not to consume a batch of roast beef as it might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Roast beef branded Leo’s Fine Food and manufactured by Leo’s Fine Food Co has best before 27 February.

A spokesman said it collected the sample from an online shop for testing under its Food Surveillance Programme.

"The test result showed that the sample contained Listeria monocytogenes. The CFS has informed the vendor of the test result and instructed it to stop sale of the affected batch of the product and initiate a recall," he said.

"The manufacturer has suspended its production temporarily to carry out thorough cleaning and disinfection. According to the distribution record of the vendor, the affected batch of the product has been sold to four clients."

It is s good news.We all should so much careful about food business.It is better to publish every post in Bengali language because of our easily understand.
