EU packaging 10-year review will see dramatic changes

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive, which sets recovery and recycling targets for EU Member States, must increase EPR (extended producer responsibility) scheme transparency and focus on minimizing post-consumer packaging waste, said Virginia Janssens, MD, Europen (European Organisation for Packaging and the Environment).

In an exclusive podcast recorded at Europen's 20th anniversary in Brussels, Janssens tells FoodProductionDaily's Fiona Barry EUROPEN's hopes for the packaging directive which is due for its 10-year review in 2014.
