VWR launches web tool to support science community

VWR has launched a web tool that allows scientific researchers to plan, manage and share laboratory information.

The provider of product and services to laboratory and production customers said SciTivity enables communication among scientists sharing labs and equipment.

It allows users to reserve equipment and supplies to support lab efficiencies, centrally manage vendors and service contracts for documentation, and share SOPs, certificates, warranties, experiment results and more to support collaboration and accessibility among team members.

VWR had a soft launch earlier this year and since numerous universities and research facilities around the world have started using the tool. Following this, the company decided to launch it to the entire science community.

Manuel Brocke-Benz, president and CEO of VWR, said when it created SciTivity, it decided it was a tool that would support lab productivity for scientists.

"As a result, we made a conscious decision not to limit it to just our customers. We are excited to share this free tool as a small way to support science around the world."

VWR works in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, industrial, education, government and healthcare industries.
